Why VOF?
  • Our producers have high integrity. Join a group of producers with high integrity and a commitment to organic practices. Consumers trust the VOF seal!
  • We value producer involvement. VOF values producer input and has systems in place to ensure producer feedback is part of the certification process.
  • We know farming and processing. Our staff and inspectors know farming and processing. Many have their own farms or value-added businesses.
  • We do not have a corporate agenda. We are owned by NOFA-VT, a nonprofit organization, and are dedicated to helping achieve the mission of promoting organic practices to build an economically viable, ecologically sound, and socially just Vermont agricultural system that benefits all living things.
  • We have a streamlined online application process and easy renewal. You can complete the entire application process online. You can log in to the system at any time to get a copy of your most recent certificate, review your conditions for continued certification, and read your inspection report. If you prefer paper, we are happy to accommodate your needs and have a paper application process as well.
  • We represent you at the national level. VOF and NOFA-VT send representatives to the National Organic Standards Board meetings to ensure that the voices of Vermont producers are heard and to ensure the integrity of the organic standards is maintained. 
  • We want you to be successful! Our parent organization NOFA-VT has education services and resources to ensure the success of certified producers. From on-farm workshops to farm viability, NOFA Vermont’s education programs help businesses tackle tough production issues.
